Get Involved
There are so many ways to get involved. Whether you browse our resources, drop by a working bee or return/donate seeds from your patch. We're pleased you've found us!
Donate Seeds
It's the kindness and generosity of local gardeners who have a bumper crop or an abundance of plants that let some go to seed which keeps us ticking. Whether it's common parsley or a rare gem - we love local seeds! Tomatoes, Pumpkins, Broccoli or Poppy we package them up and they all go out on loan!

Clearly label and date your donation. The more info the better. Drop your clean, dry and bug-free seeds to the Castlemaine Library. Or bring them along to a monthly working bee. Contact us for extra details or if you have any questions.
Monthly Working Bees
Our popular working bees are the key gathering for our team. We come together to make up our custom seed packets, sort donated and returned seeds and chat about all the happenings in our gardens. Community members often return/donate seeds, which is lovely to put faces to our borrowers and is a chance for them to tell us about their seeds and growing experiences.
First Thursday each month (exc. Jan)
11am - 12 noon

Castlemaine Library
212 Barker street, Castlemaine,
Victoria, Australia 3450
Come and help restock the library. We're looking forward to meeting you! Just pop along or email us at castlemaineseedlibrary@gmail.com
We are so happy you’re interested in getting involved. Our team is made up of clever and active members and we are always excited to meet like-minded locals. If you can't make our monthly Working Bees, there are still so many ways you can help. Many jobs are small, can be done at home in your own time, and are simple, like:

-
Packet research for new seed varieties
-
Newsletter content
-
Data entry
-
Sorting and winnowing donated seeds
-
'Growing out' donated seeds to identify and check viability

By lending your support, you’ll become a valuable part of our community organisation and help strengthen our operations. Contact us!
